Hellmoo, like any game, can be hard to pick up for new players sometimes, especially if you are not familiar with MUDs and/or MOOs. Luckily, the Hellmoo community has a number of resources available to help you get started.

The first of these actually exists in the form of the in-game help files. Type 'help' to bring up the newbie guide (if you are still considered a newbie - otherwise, type 'help newbie'). The in-game help is expansive and ever-growing.

There's also the wiki, which covers a number of topics not covered by the in-game help. If you're starting from scratch, you'll probably want to use the Quickstart Guide. Don't forget - contributing in a significant manner to the wiki will earn you the 'scribe' journal, and 1000xp!

A large number of our players come from the popular web forum Something Awful. If you are a member there, the SA Hellmoo community will be more than happy to help you get started, give you a job, and get you geared up. They also have a couple of private wikis with more spoiler-type information than is available on the official wiki.
